LibriVox recording of The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. Read by Cori Samuel. A children's classic, this is the story of Rat and Mole, who have many adventures both on and off their beloved river, with their friends Toad and Badger. This version has been read in a whisper and is perfect for night-time listening in a quiet room. The low volume is intentional! LibriVox recording of The Wind in the Willows, by Kenneth Grahame. Read by Arthur Piantadosi and Prachi Pendse. Kenneth Grahame wrote a classic children’s tale in 1908 - he penned The Wind in the Willows. He wrote of the English countryside and the beauty of it, but more than that, he showed how even the most commonplace can be extraordinary and rare. Wind in the Willows is a tale of friendship, of adventure, of foolishness and wisdom, of travel and change as well as peace and predictability;...

LibriVox's Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame read by Adrian Praetzellis. The classic story of how Rat, Mole, and the other river-bankers saved Toad from his excesses. This book has it all: excitement, sentiment, destruction of private property (plenty of that), paganism, and a happy ending. The prose is beautiful and occasionally requires the use of a dictionary - I had to look up “asperities.” Written as a children’s story, The Wind in the Willows is enjoyed by many grown-ups who...

This album is based on The Wind in the Willows , a book written by Kenneth Grahame and published in 1908. All songs were developed and performed spontaneously with no preconceived ideas (other than the imagery put in our heads from this book) prior to hitting the loop record button. Those loops were then arranged and voices added atop. All sounds were generated live by Limpid Green except the voices, which were performed by Adrian Praetzellis for Librivox recordings, specializing in public...

LibriVox recording of The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. This much-loved story follows a group of animal friends in the English countryside as they pursue adventure, and as adventure pursues them! The chief characters - Mole, Rat, and Toad - generally lead upbeat and happy lives, but their tales are leavened with moments of terror, homesickness, awe, madcap antics, and derring-do. Although classed as children's literature, The Wind in the Willows holds a gentle fascination for adults...

One spring morning, Mole abandons his spring cleaning and surfaces into the sunlight and warm grass of a great meadow. Rambling busily along the hedgerows, he comes all at once to the edge of a river. Mole is entranced. Here on the river bank he meets the Water Rat. Mole stays with the Water Rat in his snug waterside home where the river laps at the sill of the window and here he meets Ratty's friends: Badger who lives in the Wild Wood and the incorrigible Toad of Toad Hall. A timeless tale of...

Thought I'd post this one now that I've FINALLY got an off day. This piece is both new and old. It is a spin-off of several other melodies that have been in my head for quite some time. I came up w/ the opening section of the piece several years ago during the summer as I sat under the fig tree in my front yard. Since "The Wind Through The Fig Trees" sounds somewhat ridiculous; I opted to call it "The Wind Through The Willows" instead. Hope everyone enjoys this one. It's...

Hi Kids. Chapter 9 of the Wind in The Willows. I'm sorry if I have been a little erratic in loading some of these chapters but each one is recorded fresh, edited, and put out there for your enjoyment! This means that sometimes I'm not at my best. Some of these chapters have only been possible thanks to liberal doses of Lemsip and Halls Mentholyptus sweets. Hope I don't disappoint you too much, Bill.

Hi Kids. This is the first chapter of Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows'. For those of you familiar with Ratty, Mole and Badger this will need no introduction, but what I have recorded is the original version of the story as printed in October of 1908, 110 years ago in another month or so. Some of the words Mr Grahame uses might make you think a little but it's worth the effort. Sit back, listen and enjoy... and no, you can't have a go at the oars... not yet anyway, maybe later...

Simon Vance’s English accent is perfect for this 1908 classic featuring four anthropomorphized friends: Mole, Rat, Toad, and Badger. Vance’s character voices are gently nuanced—discernible without distracting from the considerable descriptive prose that embellishes this tale of friendship and adventure along the riverbank at edge of the Wild Wood. One late, hot summer evening, Mole and Rat set off in their boat to find Portly, a lost Otter cub. On their way they discover something even more astounding... something they would remember all their lives... if only they could remember what it was.. Listen on. And a Merry Christmas! Bill.
